Sunrise SUP and late could be great for kiting on Kite Beach Cabarete

Extremely Late Season Tropical Depressions have brought most of the Caribbean 24 hour wind for weeks...looks like this trend will fade as a ho loto surf is heading towards Kite Beach Cabarete starting manana. Waves should build slowly the rest of this week peaking this weekend through next week.

How to rig and Launch on a crowed Kite Beach.

KITEs Method
Hey, most kite beaches are public and you can rig and launch which ever way you choose. A cross wind set up and launch can be done in 25 meters.
1. Lay the lines out cross Wind
2. Lay the kite on top of the lines
3. Connect the Control lines to the outside trailing edge of the kite
4. Keep the center lines under the kite connect them
5. Double check no lines are over the Control Lines and Launch
Again, most beaches are big and public so riders lay their lines down wind of the kite, they connect then walk cross wind...this method takes up about hundreds of meters. If you looking for the most efficient way to rig and launch, use the Cross Wind Set Up and Launch.

Kite Beach Wind and Surf

A big winter Low Pressure System is moving off the coast of Florida toward the North Coast of the Dominican Republic but there is an extremely Late Season Tropical Low spinning off the Coast of Panama. This Late Season Low should bring windy conditions to Kite Beach later in the day. The Tropical Low is expected to fade next week as another Winter Low approaches.
Look for:
71% chance of late afternoon Trade Winds
37% chance of glassy early morning SUP conditions

No SUP for you

Wow...the Holiday´s have been windy on Kite Beach Cabarete, near 24 hour wind which has been sweet for kiting but strong morning Wind has shut down SUP action. It seems the reason is an Unbelievably,Inconceivable, Extremely Late Season Tropical Low sitting off shore of Panama and Columbia (again). These type Low Pressure Systems bring 24 Hour Wind and Radical Sand Migration to Kite Beach. One Sport Wind Athletes are really happy but wave riders are out of luck, there is very little Double Dipping on Kite Beach these days.

The Classic SUP Kite Double Dip Days have a 57% chance of returning Next Week
Next Week shows some promise for Quality SUP Wave Riding Action because of an approaching LOW, the Inconceivably Late Tropical Low looks like it is fading so hopefully we´ll be back to Big wave Glassy conditions early and strong Trade Winds Late.

Windy christmas for Kite Beach Cabarete

Windy Christmas...wow, it continues to be windy on Kite Beach Cabarete mainly because of an extremely late season Tropical Low Pressure System spinning off shore of Columbia and Panama. These type Tropical Lows bring 24 wind to Kite Beach Cabarete. They also draw moisture passing to the North back onto the North Shore of the DR. This is why there are so many evening and morning showers. This trend works well for Kiters here on Kite Beach Cabarete, not so nice for SUP and Surf wave riders but really nice for SUP Touring because the cloud cover and scattered rain keep things cool. Wow...2 1/2 years of wind

After 2 1/2 years of solid wind we finally got some Surf and with Surf comes rain...but wow the last years were awesome kite action. Endless down winders with no threat of rain, just strong winds and clear skies...the down side was no waves, we had a drought and the wind blew our beach away. Those days are gone, the rain came and with the rain came a loto surf, big beaches and cooler temps. Now we are back in a Surf mode so look for quality winds 5 days a week with good Surf action 3-5 mornings a week. Moderate cloud cover and ample rain should continue.
