Big Wave Action is here...it always seems that NFL Super Bowl Weekend brings Classic Big Wave Action, Rain and Cool Temps. This year is no different...surf is pounding, rain is failing and the Super Parties are coming together. I know a lot of beach goers don´t care for this type of weather, but hey...it´s freaking hot in the tropics and generally flat surf so this is a time of celebration for year round residents. Cool, Rainy, Big Surf, and good parties!

Early kite Late SUP action?

Wow...the big Nasty is hear...but wait...late will be great for Paddle Boarding head high surf! Sunrise brought 25knot North Westerly Wind with head high surf...but as usual, this "clearing wind " will fade quickly  through out the day. There is a 64% chance of super SUP wave action as we near Sunset. Notice in the images below that the Swell (Amber in color) is hours away form Kite Beach Cabarete and a HUGE Low Pressure System is charging off the Coast of Florida. this means that there will be good SUP action for the next 52 hours...then we will get back into a "clearing Wind" situation with a strong possibility of another AM Kite trip to Cabarete...

Quality Surf for Kite Beach Cabarete

Slow lift...this big Low Pressure System (white n blue in color) is slowly lifting North West which gives Kite Beach Cabarete small flat waves, light rain, cloud cover and  AC like temperatures. The Swell (amber in color) is just hitting Havana now and is a day away from hitting Kite Beach Cabarete. The Swell (Amber color) seems to have more West that North in it which does not work so well for us here on Kite Beach Cabarete because Cuba, Florida and the Bahamas catch or block most of the swell moving West to East. The good news is that there should be a nice swell Thursday Morning with lite winds...so let´s paddle Kite Beach Cabarete

Storm on the Horizon for Kite Beach Cabarete

Big Storm heading towards Kite Beach Cabarete. Right now the Leading Edge of this huge Winter Storm just passed Havana Cuba and should hit Kite Beach Cabarete late tonite. These storms bring moisture first followed by massive surf. Take advantage of small surf while we have it...pm me to learn to Paddle Board Waves or if you are ripping...will see you on the reef pronto!

Monday: Lite winds 15mph with small surf 1´
Tuesday:  Side off shore winds 3´ surf... rain
Wednesday: Head high Surf with side off shore winds
Thursday:  Over Head high surf , possible AM Kite with westerly side off shore morning winds giving way to lite afternoon winds

She gone...NYC Paddle Boarder John Anton said "...a huge low pressure system is pushing off east coast today..." this means Kite Beach Cabarete should have pumping Surf mid to late this week...don´t be surprised to see a considerable bump up in swell as early as Tuesday...let´s paddle, if you don´t know how to paddle but want to learn pm me! ...

Kite Beach Cabarete Wind, Waves kite paddle board

Been having perfect SUP conditions with crystal clear water...so clear you can see different reef species...this trend will continue with smaller more manageable surf happening Saturday-Monday before larger Big Wave Riding happens (mid week through the week end). Quality Surf is hitting Kite Beach Cabarete...winter storms keep rolling off the East Coast of North America, bringing big surf and lite winds to Kite Beach Cabarete. These big Low Pressure systems are displacing the Bermuda High Pressure System which brings Kite Beach Cabarete Trade winds.

Loto Wind and Surf for Kite beach cabarete

I am absolutely amazed at what looks like Tropical Action South of the Dominican Republic. This is the type weather expected in August, not January but there is in fact a loto tropical action south of the Dominican Republic. This will keep our winds will stay strong, especially late evening. There will be plenty of Squalls and large surf from the North. Early next week look for an increase in surf. January 2015 is shaping up to being a major Kite Surf month for Kite Beach Cabarete.

Kite Beach Wind

Gonna be windy with quality surf for a while on Kite Beach, Cabarete. A Large Stationary Low Pressure System has formed and stalled East of Central America. This Low will help increase the Trade winds here on Kite Beach. Infact, these type of Low Pressure Systems give Kite Beach Almost 24 hour wind. Look for especially Strong winds in the late afternoon.

There has been a nice amount of rain and solid afternoon wind for the Holidays. now the Big Surf has rolled in and it looks like it´s gonna be windy...most Paddleboarders are already off the water because of the wind, so pump it up!
