Wow...quality SUP and Kite Action continue for Kite Beach Cabarete even as the Southern US is getting hammered by snow and wind. Even Cuba is getting hit by this Big Winter Low Pressure system. Generally these big Low Pressure Systems would bring surf and kill Trade Winds...this has not been the case, Kite Beach Cabarete has had great Sunrise Surf and Quality Afternoon Kite action. It looks like the same will continue today. As the Low Pressure System approaches there will be  Southerly winds which should mix with our Easterly Trade winds towards creating quality Kite near Sunset. Wow...Big Surf and a Big Off Shore wind is gonna make for a World Class Kite Day on Kite Beach Cabarete. Paddle Boarders went out at Sunrise and the action was good, but it was very apparent that today is a very rare Offshore Wind and Big Wave Kite day. Hit it early because a Huge Low Pressure System is Hitting Havana Cuba now and we are next unless our lucky streak continues and this storm lifts.

Mainly because the Winter Low Pressure Systems are Lifting as they pass through Florida. This action gives Kite Beach Cabarete quality SUP and Kite conditions with out heavy weather and driving rain. Wow...a ho loto Rain and Surf for Kite Beach Cabarete...the next big storms look like they will shift to a more easterly track and may not soak Kite Beach Cabarete. One thing for sure is that this massive Low Pressure System ranging off the Coast of Florida will displace the Bermuda High Pressure System which produces the Trade Winds which make for consistent kiting on Kite Beach Cabarete. So does this mean that there will be no wind for Kite Beach Cabarete? No, the storms are moving fast and there is strong possibility for quality action ESPECIALLY near Sunrise and Sunset. In fact late last night a handfull of riders caught it good and the same thing happened today at Sunrise. This is why kiters should always stay in  Hotel on Kite beach!

Big Wave Action is here...it always seems that NFL Super Bowl Weekend brings Classic Big Wave Action, Rain and Cool Temps. This year is no different...surf is pounding, rain is failing and the Super Parties are coming together. I know a lot of beach goers don´t care for this type of weather, but hey...it´s freaking hot in the tropics and generally flat surf so this is a time of celebration for year round residents. Cool, Rainy, Big Surf, and good parties!

Early kite Late SUP action?

Wow...the big Nasty is hear...but wait...late will be great for Paddle Boarding head high surf! Sunrise brought 25knot North Westerly Wind with head high surf...but as usual, this "clearing wind " will fade quickly  through out the day. There is a 64% chance of super SUP wave action as we near Sunset. Notice in the images below that the Swell (Amber in color) is hours away form Kite Beach Cabarete and a HUGE Low Pressure System is charging off the Coast of Florida. this means that there will be good SUP action for the next 52 hours...then we will get back into a "clearing Wind" situation with a strong possibility of another AM Kite trip to Cabarete...

Slow lift...this big Low Pressure System (white n blue in color) is slowly lifting North West which gives Kite Beach Cabarete small flat waves, light rain, cloud cover and  AC like temperatures. The Swell (amber in color) is just hitting Havana now and is a day away from hitting Kite Beach Cabarete. The Swell (Amber color) seems to have more West that North in it which does not work so well for us here on Kite Beach Cabarete because Cuba, Florida and the Bahamas catch or block most of the swell moving West to East. The good news is that there should be a nice swell Thursday Morning with lite winds...so let´s paddle Kite Beach Cabarete

Here is how Big Winter Storms roll in North America and the Caribbean...they
1. move West to East
2. throw Huge Surf on the reefs of Hawaii
3. blanket the Mountains with snow
4. put the Midwest and North East into Deep Freeze
5. bring Massive Surf, Wind and rain to the Caribbean
So Hawaii is getting big surf right now...look for big wave action here in 7 days (notice the map at the 180 hour mark). If anyone wants to learn how to paddle board small waves...this is the time...not next week...let me know!
